Verizon

Verizon TravelPass works the same way as AT&T: $12 per day you use data in the Dominican Republic, charged automatically. You get 5GB of high-speed data per day before throttling to 3G. A 7-day trip costs $84. Verizon's $100/month international plan is worth considering only if your trip is longer than 9 days.

Mint Mobile and Visible

Mint Mobile does not offer any mobile data outside the US on any plan. You can make and receive calls over WiFi when connected, but you get zero cellular data in the Dominican Republic. If you are on Mint, a Dominican Republic eSIM is not optional.

Visible (a Verizon MVNO) offers a $10/day international pass on Verizon's network. At $70 for a week, it is cheaper than AT&T and Verizon's direct plans but still expensive compared to a Dominican Republic eSIM.

How to install a Dominican Republic eSIM

On iPhone (XS and newer)

   Go to Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions," your iPhone is unlocked and compatible. If a carrier name or "SIM locked" is shown, your device is restricted and will not work with this eSIM.

   While in Settings → General → About, look for an EID number — this confirms eSIM support. Any iPhone XS or newer has it.
